Dua Lipa is a Brit musician and singer who was from London United Kingdom on August 22nd 1995. She decided to sign with Warner Bros Records in 2014 following her work as a model. She released her self-titled debut album in the year 2017. It peaked in at third place at the top of the U.K. album chart, and included eight songs, including the U.K. top ten hit song New Rules and Be the One I.D.G.A.F. Lipa received the Brit Award in 2018 as British Female Soloist and British Breakthrough Artist. The album has been certified platinum across a variety of countries. Her parents are Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha, and Dukagjin Lipa. As a result of her maternal grandmother Dua Lipa, she is Bosnian. There is also a trace of Lipa's ancestral roots through Peja from Kosovo. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. Gjin along with Rina are her sisters. Lipa was musically influenced by her father the guitar player and lead singer of Oda, the Kosovan rock band Oda. When she was at home with her parents, her father would perform his own compositions and songs of David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at the age of five. It was the Sylvia Young Theater School was the first place she began to sing at the age of nine. Lipa has performed a cover of Ain't Got You and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, both on YouTube. Lipa was given a recording contract from Warner Bros. Records in 2014. Her debut song New Love was released on August 15th, 2015.
